The general objective of the project is the rehabilitation of the infrastructure and superstructure of the tramway in Iasi on the following sections: Five roads- Str. The Forests- Str. Nicorita’; Podu Ros Square – Intersection with Primaverii Boulevard: Virgil B-dul – the intersection with Metallurgy Boulevard – Rond Tutora", thus contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions in the municipality through investments based on SUMP. The aim of the project is to create an efficient and attractive public transport system that serves the inhabitants of Iasi in a balanced way. By the nature of the general objective, the investment targeted by the project foresees, on the sections: Five roads- Str. The Forests- Str. Nicorita",Piata Podu Ros- Intersection with Primaverii Boulevard", Virgil B-dul with – the intersection with Metallurgy Boulevard – Rond Tutora", measures to improve the efficiency of public passenger transport, its frequency and journey times, contributing to the objectives of Priority Axis 4 Supporting sustainable urban development, Investment Priority 4e: Promoting low-carbon strategies for all types of territories, in particular for urban areas, including the promotion of sustainable multimodal urban mobility and mitigation-relevant adaptation measures. Specific objective 4.1: Reducing carbon emissions in municipalities of county residence through investments based on sustainable urban mobility plans under the Regional Operational Programme (ROP) 2014-2020, as follows: 1. 0 electric tram at the beginning of project implementation and 5 trams purchased at the end of project implementation 2. 0 ml of rehabilitated tram line at the beginning of project implementation 5720.60 ml rehabilitated tram line (simple taxiway) at the end of project implementation 3. Estimated annual greenhouse gas decrease (tonnes CO2/year) on the route analysed with: — 0 Tons (Total emissions estimated 3361 Tone CO2/year) in the first year of project implementation 2018 Scenario without project: — 3254,2 Tone CO2/year for the first year after completion of the implementation of the respective project 2023-3138.9 Tone CO2/year for the last year of the durability period of the financing contract and 2027 Project scenario: — 1,92 % and 62,5 Tone (from 3254,2 Tons to 3191.7 Tone CO2/year) for the first year following completion of the implementation of the respective project 2023-1.86 % respectively 58.5 Tone (338.9 Tons to 3080.4 Tone CO2/year) for the last year of the durability period of the financing contract, i.e. 2027 4.
