Investments in education infrastructure within UMF Iasi – Simulation Center

Development of the educational infrastructure of UMF Iasi, including the endowment of a Medical Simulation Center, in terms of performance, sustainability and social inclusion. The University of Medicine and Pharmacy Gr. T. Popa is the main reference pole in terms of university education and medical research in the North-East Region. The creation of the medical educational infrastructure as well as the facilities related to the education process is an urgent necessity without which negative effects are generated both on the educational act and the labor force in the medical field, especially doctors and nurses, as well as on citizens who access or benefit from medical services in the North-East Region. The aim of the project comes, therefore, as a response both to the concern of UMF Iasi for the permanent improvement of the medical education system by using the most effective methods such as simulation-based methods, the best equipment and technologies, as well as to the need of UMF Iasi to ensure spaces for the educational process, at European quality standards. This procurement of UMF Iasi is one of the main directions of strategic development 2016-2020 of the University, namely the educational component and component of PATRIMONIALA DEVELOPMENT – issues highlighted in the programmatic document “Strategic Development Plan, Period 2016-2020, UMF Iasi”. By achieving its purpose, the project is also relevant to the specific objective (10.3) of the investment priority (10.1), Priority Axis 10 of the ROP, namely: Increasing the relevance of tertiary university education in relation to the labour market and competitive economic sectors. The causal relationship between the level of development of the workforce capacities and the state of the infrastructure in which the process of education and training takes place, as well as their endowments is evidenced by numerous socio-economic analyses and, as such, the support of the ROP will ensure the achievement of the conditions for a quality professional training, applied and relevant to the needs of the health labor market. The proposed investment project will improve UMF Iasi’s ability to anticipate and meet market demands regarding standards and academic quality to develop new programs, benefiting from infrastructure, modern technology and equipment to provide students with both key competences and cross-disciplinary skills. The proposed investment will contribute to increasing the employability of higher medical education graduates in the competitive and intelligent specialisation sectors – Health and Infomational Technology. The new methods of education and medical practice based on simulation allow to gain the right medical skills and attitudes, in an organised setting, under the supervision of competent instructors. By progressive exposure of students (students or doctors) to different
