Reducing carbon emissions in the city of Gura Humorului, based on the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of Gura Humorului City, Suceava County. The investment is proposed based on a set of projects selected from the optimal scenario of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of Gura Humorului. The ‘zero’ priority project portfolio is essential for achieving the main objectives of the Urban Mobility Plan. In analysing and configuring the optimal development scenario, the optimal combination of investments in all modes of transport is sought, so as to obtain improved modal shares for sustainable modes of transport, but at the same time to ensure the minimum infrastructure, necessary for quality transport in the urban environment. The optimal scenario starts from the premise of building a sustainable and efficient urban transport model, encompassing all modes of transport, and combining them so that the approach is integrated, ensuring a complete interaction between all types of transport. Starting from the existing modal quotas, the aim is to increase the modal shares of environmentally friendly and efficient means of transport at the expense of polluting means of transport and which can create problems in traffic (especially personal cars). The focus will be on public transport, starting from the benefits of such transport: — reduces fuel consumption at the level of the operated region, – reduces emissions of pollutants, – reduces congestion in traffic, – offers mobility opportunities for all categories of inhabitants, – reduces personal travel costs – contributes to the economic growth of the area served
