The general objective of the project proposed for funding is to increase the quality of life in Focșani Municipality by creating a public street lighting system that ensures the full satisfaction of the needs of the city and its inhabitants, in conditions of maximum efficiency in terms of resource consumption and with beneficial results in terms of the costs of these utilities for the population and the Municipality. The implementation of the new system will also help to create a climate of safety and comfort for the inhabitants of the municipality and for all categories of population bound for or transiting through the municipality, thereby contributing to speeding up the overall urban development process. In order to achieve the general objective, the project proposes the implementation of an efficient and environmentally friendly system of public lighting in Focșani Municipality, which will significantly reduce the non-regenerative energy consumption after the implementation of the project. The project aims to improve the efficiency and distribution of lighting, with the aim of traffic safety, visual comfort, urban planning, energy saving and light pollution reduction, aiming to achieve the following benefits for citizens: — Making a dynamic lighting related to the rhythm of the city (dynamic change in luminance and/or illumination as a result of car and/or pedestrian traffic monitoring) leading to electricity savings; The creation of fair, user-oriented public lighting, adapted to the functions of the public space and the rhythm of the city, which thus contributes to the extension of the accessibility of urban spaces; — The correct operation of the lighting system by using an intelligent remote management system at the level of each lighting device; — Creating interactive lighting without compromising the safety of the population; — Proposing luminaires that comply with the principles of eco-design, thus contributing to saving resources; Real-time management of the public lighting system, with the effect of reducing maintenance costs. The project is addressed to Priority Axis 3 “Supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy”, Investment Priority 3.1 “Supporting energy efficiency, smart energy management and renewable energy use in public infrastructures, including public buildings, and housing”, Operation C: Public lighting", because it will contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in Focșani Municipality by increasing the energy efficiency of the public lighting system, which is included in the specific objective of the mentioned financing line. The project on rehabilitation, modernisation and extension of the proposed public lighting system is included in the Integrated Urban Development Strategy of Focșani Municipality 2014-2023,
