Increasing urban mobility through investments with an integrated character in public transport infrastructure to reduce GHG emissions

The general objective of the project is to reduce GHG emissions and promote sustainable urban mobility by making integrated investments in urban public transport infrastructure and in the infrastructure specific to cycling and pedestrians, in order to ensure the free and safe movement of people, with the protection of the environment, crucial to the quality of life of the citizens of Râmnicu Sărat. The main aim will be to improve the efficiency of public passenger transport, its frequency and journey times, its accessibility, its transfer from private transport by car, and the transfer to non-motorised modes of transport. It will also aim to make the use of passenger cars a less attractive option in terms of economic and journey times compared to the use of public transport/non-motorised modes, thereby creating the conditions for reducing car numbers and reducing CO2-equivalent emissions and meeting specific objective 3.2 of the Investment Priority 4e.
