The city of Navodari aims to become a city with energy efficient buildings, with sustainable transport and a competitive economy. The general objective of the project aims to improve the educational conditions of students and promote social cohesion, by making investments in energy efficiency in the educational unit. Lazar Edeleanu Technological High School is attended by a large number of students (848 students this school year), therefore it is necessary to ensure the optimal and safe conduct of the educational activities. The building where the Lazar Edeleanu High School works in the town of Navodari is made up of 3 bodies. The buildings are structurally independent and have a total useful surface, greater than 250 sqm, each. The project implements measures to improve the quality of the environment and increase the energy efficiency of the buildings related to the Lazar Edeleanu Technological High School. Implementing the energy efficiency measures of the buildings related to the Lazar Edeleanu Technological High School will increase the level of comfort provided to both students and teachers, increasing the quality of the educational act by: • improvement of hygiene and indoor thermal comfort conditions; • reducing heat loss and energy consumption; • reduce maintenance costs for heating and hot water consumption; • reducing pollutant emissions from energy production, transport and consumption leading to the efficient use of energy resources, in line with the Europe 2020 strategy. The achievement of the general objective and the achievement of the specific objectives of the project, through the implementation of the activities and the achievement of the expected results at its level, is aligned with the current national priorities, in accordance with the National Development Plan of Romania which sets out the priorities of public development investment and the National Energy Strategy, which includes the objective of improving energy efficiency. The project is aligned with the country’s efforts to reduce energy consumption and improve the energy performance of buildings. The direct beneficiary of the investment proposed by this grant application is the City of Navodari, the applicant for this funding application and the person responsible for maintaining the entire infrastructure that will be obtained through the implementation of the project.
