Rehabilitation of facades, exterior and interior mural painting, strengthening of the resistance structure, systematisation of the court, restoration of the enclosure, rehabilitation of all installations and candle building for St. Great Martyr Gheorghe

The general objective of the project is the preservation, protection, promotion and development of the local cultural heritage in Mangalia, Constanta county through rehabilitation, restoration and preservation of the building and valuable elements, but also the promotion of the Church of St. Grand Martyr Gheorghe, historical monument according to Order of the Minister of Culture no. 2828/2015, code LMI CT-II-m-B-02900. Located on 7 Mihai Viteazu Street, St. St. Great Martyr Gheorghe was built between 1914-1929. The architectural style of the construction is traditional mountainous and the mural painting was made in non-obizantine style by master Gheorghe Raducanu between 1964-1968. National strategic documents, such as the Master Plan for the Development of National Tourism 2007-2026, the National Sustainable Development Strategy, the National Regional Development Strategy, which naturally derive from European strategic documents recognise the potential for tourism development by preserving, protecting, promoting and developing cultural heritage. Thus, the project, through the general objective and the activities it proposes represents a concrete measure taken by a local public authority that leads to the preservation, protection and promotion of a historical monument of local interest, thus contributing to the common national and European effort to preserve and promote the European and national identity of each Member State dubious “Unity in Diversity”. From this perspective, the project responds to Priority Axis 5 and Investment Priority 5.1 of ROP 2014-2020.
