In accordance with the directives of the Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020 and the specific objective of Priority Axis 6, P.I. 6.1, (call dedicated to the Integrated Territorial Investment Area of the Danube Delta), the general objective of the project is to increase the accessibility of rural and urban areas located close to the TEN-T network through the modernisation of county roads. Through this project, the Constanta County ATU through Constanta County Council aims to increase the quality of life, transport and mobility of the population, goods and services in Constanta County through the rehabilitation and modernisation of the county road network, in order to stimulate the sustainable development of Constanta County and implicitly of the South East Development Region. The project aims to contribute to the achievement of the general objectives of the Danube Delta ITI, namely: improving the economy by developing activities in the fields of tourism, fisheries, aquaculture and agriculture, improving connectivity, increasing the efficiency of public services. Rehabilitation and modernisation of regional transport infrastructure on the route DJ226 Corbu-Săcele-Istria-Mihai Viteazu is a strategic objective at county and regional level. The modernisation of the DJ 226 county road will stimulate regional mobility by connecting secondary and tertiary nodes to TEN-T infrastructure, including multimodal nodes, and is dedicated to interconnecting the Danube region.
