General objective of the project: increase the average number of employees in the spa resorts of national interest Mangalia and Saturn. The overall objective will be achieved through the two specific objectives, achieved within 24 months of the signature of the grant contract. The proposed investment directly contributes to capitalising on the natural tourist resources of Mangalia and Saturn resorts (seawater, sulphurous mesothermal waters, marine bioclimate rich in saline aerosols). The project is supported by the local business environment: the 8 economic operators who participated in the public consultation process expressed their agreement in principle to the implementation of the project and, in this context, 7 of them declared that they would invest in starting new businesses or expanding/modernising existing ones, with the creation of 34 new jobs in the field of tourism and catering. Mangalia and Saturn benefit from the necessary infrastructure to host events associated with business tourism – seminars, conferences, summer schools, scientific symposia, etc. By engaging as a partner in Romania-Bulgaria cross-border projects starting with the pre-accession period (Phare CBC) and so far (the Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme), the staff of the U.A.T. Municipality of Mangalia involved in project management teams have received continuous professional training through the exchange of experience with Bulgarian partners.
