The general objective of the project is to increase the coverage of social services in Sinaia in order to prolong the state of movement independence of the elderly and to encourage socialisation activities for these people, in line with the National Strategy for Promoting Active Ageing and the Protection of Elderly Persons 2014-2020, but also with the National Strategy on Social Inclusion and reducing poverty for the period 2015-2020. Contribution of the project to the specific objective of the Programme: Project entitled “Centre S – place of good” proposed for funding under the call for projects P.O.R./8/8.1/8.3/A/2, Vulnerable Group: elderly people contribute directly to the achievement of the specific objective of the programme – “Increasing coverage with social services”, because the investment within the project consists of setting up a social center without residential component for the elderly. The center will function by changing the destination of the architectural monument building “House, former house of town culture”, registered in the list of historical monuments at position 756 with code PH-II-m-B-16669, property owned by Sinaia. Within the project this building will be rehabilitated, expanded and equipped. Given that in Sinaia the proportion of the population over 65 represents 20.75 % of the total population and 89.95 % of the population over 65 of the total population of Sinaia has no difficulties in current activity, it was opted for the establishment of a day centre, meant to prolong the independent movement of the elderly and to encourage the socialisation activities of these people. The types of social services provided within the Center S-place of well will be: psychosocial counseling and information, legal counseling, socialisation and leisure, recovery and relaxation therapies, organisation and involvement in community and cultural activities, vocational orientation, charitable actions: providing food, material and financial aids, relaxation therapies, cultural activities, administrative activities etc. All types of services listed above are meant to contribute to increasing the quality of life of older people. The activities carried out within the social services mentioned will contribute to removing the feeling of social isolation and increasing self-esteem. They will also have a nice way of spending time, improving and/or maintaining an adequate level of independence, improving physical and mental health in order to value each person and remove the sense of futility. In the Day Center the services will be accessed free of charge.
