Increasing energy efficiency through the rehabilitation of Caracal Municipal Hospital

The main objective of the project is to increase the energy efficiency of the CARACAL MUNICIPAL SPITAL by reducing the total primary energy consumption. The project initiated by the Municipality of Caracal is in line with the specific objective of Priority Axis 3 “Supporting the transition towards a low-carbon economy” and the investment priority 3.1. “Supporting energy efficiency, smart energy management and the use of renewable energy in public infrastructure, including public buildings, and housing” of the Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, to increase the energy efficiency of public buildings in the development regions of Romania. The main objective of the project contributes to achieving security of supply to consumers, ensuring sustainable development and competitiveness, saving energy resources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The reduction of the total primary energy consumption following the implementation of the investment project will reduce the costs of utilities related to the Caracal MUNICIPAL SPITAL, with energy savings being recorded. In order to achieve the objective, the following types of works will be performed: — thermal rehabilitation, covering refurbishment, installation in Central C5 of a cogeneration unit, modernisation of lighting installations, thermal installations and domestic hot water. The realisation of the investment project proposed by the Municipality of Caracal guarantees the increase of energy performance within the public building – CARACAL MUNICIPAL SPITAL, in the medium and long term, which will contribute to supporting energy efficiency, smart energy management and the use of renewable energy in public buildings in Romania.
