The implementation of the new system, including the management system it entails, will contribute to increasing the quality of life in the municipality of Slatina, to create a climate of safety and comfort for its inhabitants, as well as for all categories of population that reach or transit through the municipality and through this, to speed up the overall urban development process. The project addresses Priority Axis 3 "Supporting the transition towards a low carbon economy", Specific Objective 3.1 "Supporting energy efficiency, smart energy management and renewable energy use in public infrastructure, including public buildings, and housing; Increasing energy efficiency in residential buildings, public buildings and public lighting systems, especially those who record high energy consumption" because it will contribute to the reduction of electricity consumption related to the public building infrastructure, reduces carbon emissions (related to the production of saved electricity) and promotes the supply from renewable sources, by implementing a local photovoltaic power plant to supply the remote management centre. The public lighting system and its urban services are quality criteria for defining the quality of life in urban areas. It has the role of ensuring both the safe orientation and movement of pedestrians and vehicles at night, as well as the creation of an appropriate environment in the hours of low natural light.
