General objective of the project/Project goal This project aims to contribute to solving one of the most acute problems faced by education in Resita Municipality, namely: insufficient education units equipped at modern standards to ensure access to a quality educational process. The general objective of the project “Rehabilitation of secondary school no. 7, Resita” is to improve the quality of education infrastructure and school endowment, increase school performance and prevent school drop-outs in order to increase population participation and ensure a modern and quality educational process, able to provide ready human resources for the labor market (in accordance with Specific Objective 6 of the Regional Development Plan 2014-2020 West Region). This objective falls within the objective of investment priority 10.1 “Investing in education, and training, including vocational training, for acquiring skills and lifelong learning through the development of education and training infrastructures” and “Enhancing participation in early education and compulsory education, especially for children at increased risk of early leaving the system”, as well as in the overall ROP 2014-2020 objective: increasing economic competitiveness and improving the living conditions of local and regional communities, by supporting the development of the business environment, infrastructure conditions and services, ensuring a sustainable development of the regions, capable of efficiently managing resources, capitalising on their potential for innovation and assimilation of technological progress. According to the Local Development Strategy of Resita Municipality 2015-2025, for a sustainable and harmonious development of Resita Municipality, seven development priorities/objectives have been established by 2025, educational and cultural development being one of the priorities, which can be achieved by “improving the conditions of education and cultural sports events at local level”.
