The general objective of this project is the rehabilitation and valorisation of a historic monument of national interest (Category A) from Baile Herculane Resort and its promotion, in order to contribute to the development of tourism, which will lead to an increase in the number of tourists and to the development of the economic sector in the area, with effects in creating new jobs and increasing the living standards of the population in the area. The project was designed in such a way as to be linked to the objectives of the investment priority financed by the 2014-2020 ROP, namely the specific objective “Increasing the average number of employees in tourist resorts” of Priority Axis 7, Investment Priority 7.1. EUSRD. Also, the aim of the project is to contribute to the implementation of Priority Area 3 actions of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region, namely the consolidation of the Danube region as an important European tourist destination; promoting short stays and leisure activities at weekends, as well as longer stays; improving tourism planning and infrastructure; promoting spa tourism in the region, etc. The aim of the project is to contribute to the revitalisation of Baile Herculane Resort, which will be ensured by investments made for tourism infrastructure and through promotion and marketing measures carried out as a result of obtaining non-reimbursable financial assistance.
