Modernisation of DJ 687, Santuhalm-Hunedoara- Calan (km 13+ 050-km 22+ 791)

. The general objective of the project “Modernisation DJ687, Sântuhalm – Hunedoara – Călan (km 13+ 050 – km 22+ 791)” is to increase the accessibility of rural and urban areas (municipality of Hunedoara, Calan and rural settlements belonging) located in the proximity of the TEN-T, basic and extended network, road – DN 7 (E68) – road axis 7 – Corridor Pan European IV and DN 66 (E79) and railway – Magistral CFR 202, railway axis 22 – Pan European Corridor IV. The aim of the project is to reduce disparities within Hunedoara County and, implicitly, intra-regional disparities (between Hunedoara, Caras-Severin and Arad and Timis counties) and interegional to Gorj county (South-West Oltenia region) by carrying out specific activities, included in the chapter Predicted activities, which will allow the accessibility of an area with a deficient structural development (Hunedoara and Calan important steel centers); but also with a significant economic, tourist, cultural-historical and ethnographic potential (Sarmizegetusa Ulpia Traiana-Microregion Country Hategului-Tinutul Forests – Castle of Corvins – Calan, city with balneo-climate potential insufficiently exploited), until the end of the project;attraction of the area in the tourist and economic circuit with implications for the development of Hunedoara County and West Region., by modernising a county road linking, entirely, the main municipalities and towns of the county, until the project is completed.
