Improvement of the quality of life in Brad Municipality, Componenta – Modernisation and endowment of multifunctional cultural center in Brad Municipality, Componenta – Refreshment and modernisation str. Independence and str. To the Brad High School

The proposed investment falls within the thematic objective pursued under the Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, Priority Axis 13 – Supporting the regeneration of small and medium-sized cities, Investment Priority 9b – Providing support for physical, economic and social revitalisation of disadvantaged communities in urban and rural regions, Specific Objective 13.1 – Improving the quality of life of the population in small and medium-sized cities in Romania. The general objective of the project is to improve the quality of life of the population in Brad in general and especially the young population by developing the municipality as an attractive and accessible cultural center with the capacity to maintain and community involvement of young people from all communities and social groups, including those disadvantaged (in poverty situations) and marginalised (from Roma communities in the municipality and surrounding communes) and with high tourist attractiveness, with the potential to create new jobs in this sector. Brad Municipality is a former mining city in sharp industrial decline after 2006, affected by the significant decline of the population and especially of the young population (young people under 18) due to the low attractiveness of the city and the low quality of urban life, but which has a rich cultural and touristic potential insufficiently exploited, due to insufficient, inadequate and insufficiently accessible spaces for cultural and social/community activities. Also, this financing application is consistent with the general objective of the Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, to increase economic competitiveness and improve the living conditions of local and regional communities, by supporting the development of the business environment, infrastructure and services conditions that ensure and the sustainable development of regions, capable of efficiently managing resources, capitalising on their potential for innovation and assimilation of technological progress.
