Integrated cultural services by creating a Multifunctional Cultural Center in Lugoj

The general objective of this project is to improve the quality of life of the population through an integrated approach in complementary investments that will ensure balanced development and increase the attractiveness of this municipality, by creating a space in which cultural and recreational activities will take place, as well as improving the urban public space in its proximity. In the long term, this project will integrate with the investments that will be made following the implementation of the GAL LOCAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY “COMMUNITY RESPONSABILITY STRATEGY FOR LUGOJ WORK”, financed by the CLLD mechanism, within the public-private partnership that Lugoj Municipality has established and financed. Together with the investment plan within the Local Development Strategy placed under the responsibility of the community, this project can offer solutions in an increasingly diverse and complex context, targeting innovation and achieving results that bring lasting changes in the community. The project will also lead to the completion of the LOCAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY and the implementation of the Regional Operational Programme, following the integration of development needs into the entire public policies and programmes of Romania, as a Member State of the European Union, and envisages making complementary investments in the cultural and urban infrastructure components, as a source for sustainable development in the future. The investments proposed by the project will address 2 issues supported by Priority 9b: rehabilitation of secondary buildings, part of the interior of the main building and systematisation of the barracks building (located on 8A Banatul Street) and rehabilitation of urban infrastructure that have the effect of social and physical revitalisation (reduction of socio-spatial or social exclusion of residents, especially those belonging to vulnerable groups, development of leisure opportunities and improvement of accessibility, attractiveness and quality of the urban environment, with side effects in reducing school abandonment, reducing family violence, migration of the population to larger urban centers or outside the country, increasing the quality of life of older people, developing the business environment, reducing unemployment, increasing the safety of residents).
