Modernisation of the integrated urban mobility corridor in the western part of Turda

Ensuring an efficient public passenger transport service and improving the conditions for the use of non-motorised modes of transport, with a view to reducing the number of journeys by private transport (cars) and reducing CO2-equivalent emissions from transport. Thus, Turda Municipality aims to develop urban mobility by shifting the focus from a mobility based on car use to a mobility based on walking, using bicycle as a means of travel, using high quality and efficient public transport, reducing the use of cars in parallel with the use of clean car categories. The project meets the specific objective 3.2 of the investment priority 4e, through the implementation of strategic measures based on data from the Turda Urban Moiblity Plan, which will lead to the promotion of sustainable multimodal urban mobility and the reduction of CO2 emissions, as a result of improving the efficiency of public passenger transport, its frequency and its journey times, accessibility, transfer to it from private transport by car, as well as the transfer to non-motorised modes of transport, increasing the attractiveness of using public transport and non-motorised modes to the detriment of transport with private cars. Thus, the project provides integrated activities aimed at the public passenger transport system (purchase of electric, clean buses, implementation of an e-ticketing system, establishment of dedicated lanes for public passenger transport, modernisation of public transport stations, implementation of an intelligent traffic management system), bicilis (establishment of bicycle tracks, implementation of a bike-sharing system), pedestrians (modernisation of sidewalks, location of alignments of green spaces), all these activities contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions at the level of Turda municipality.
