Modernisation of street infrastructure for access between the central area and Ocna Dej – Streets: Mihai Viteazu, Miners, Blues, Tibles, Heroes, Pintic

The general objective of the project is to reduce GHG emissions by making investments to ensure an efficient public passenger transport service and to improve the conditions for the use of non-motorised modes of transport, in order to reduce the number of journeys with private transport (cars) and reduce CO2 equivalent emissions from transport. Thus, Dej Municipality aims to develop urban mobility by changing the focus from a mobility based on car use to mobility based on walking, using bicycle as a means of travel, using high quality and efficient public transport, reducing the use of cars in parallel with the use of clean car categories. The general objective of the project is closely related to the specific objective of the Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, priority axis 3: “Supporting the transition towards a low carbon economy” investment priority 4e“Promoting low carbon strategies for all types of territories, in particular for urban areas, including the promotion of sustainable multimodal urban mobility and mitigation-relevant adaptation measures”, namely “Reduction of carbon emissions in urban areas based on sustainable urban mobility plans” through the implementation of strategic measures, based on the data from the Sustainable Urban Moblity Plan of Dej Municipality, which will lead to the promotion of sustainable multimodal urban mobility and the reduction of CO2 emissions, as a result of improving the efficiency of public passenger transport, its frequency and journey times, accessibility, transfer to it from private transport by car, as well as the transfer to non-motorised modes of transport, increasing the attractiveness of using public transport and non-motorised modes to the detriment of transport with private cars. The general expected results mentioned in the chapter “Awaited results” of this financing application correspond only to the financing request analysed.
