The general objective of the project is to reduce carbon emissions in Cluj-Napoca, by purchasing and commissioning 30 electric buses, based on the approved Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan. The overall objective of the project is achieved by replacing 30 old buses with non-euro and Euro 2 pollution standards, used in the urban passenger transport system and equipped with diesel engines, with new buses equipped with electric powertrain. This measure ensures an efficient public passenger transport service with increased comfort and reduces the number of journeys by private transport (cars) and as a consequence, and reduces CO2-equivalent emissions from transport.
