The general objective of the project is to increase the energy efficiency of the school building through thermal rehabilitation of the tire, electrical installations, as well as the installation of alternative energy production systems within the Special Gymnasium School – Resource and Documentation Centre on Inclusive/Integrated Education. By its objective, the project falls under Priority Axis 3, Specific Objective 3.1.B of the ROP, in the sense of increasing energy efficiency in residential buildings, public buildings and public lighting systems, especially those with high energy consumption. The aim of the project is to improve the relevant energy efficiency parameters (annual primary energy consumption from both non-renewable and renewable sources, specific annual level of greenhouse gases) of the Special Gymnasium School building – Resource and Documentation Centre on Inclusive/Integrated Education. Thermal rehabilitation is a matter of real interest for Romania. The current priority is to improve the energy efficiency of urban buildings. At the same time, the objective of “Increasing energy efficiency” is a strategic one and is part of the Third Climate and Energy Goal 20/20/20 contained in the Europe 2020 Strategy – a strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. Starting with 2007, Romania has committed itself, like all Member States of the European Union, to achieve the reduction of energy consumption to end-users, including buildings, by at least 1.5 % each year (compared to the average consumption of the last 5 years), with a direct effect on the reduction of primary energy consumption and environmental protection by reducing greenhouse gases. Improving energy efficiency is a strategic objective of national energy policy, due to its major contribution to achieving security of energy supply, sustainable development and competitiveness, saving primary energy resources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The project aims to: rehabilitation and thermal rehabilitation of the school in order to increase the thermal efficiency of the building.
