The general objective of the project is to increase the living standards and improve the quality of life of the population of Turda by improving the cultural offer, namely the restoration, preservation and rehabilitation of the former judge’s building and its re-destination as a Centre for Culture, Art and Traditions, until 2023. Thus, through this project, the local public administration aims to transform the former judge’s building into a space of culture and education, leisure for both the inhabitants of Turda and other visitors. The Centre for Culture, Art and Traditions is a public service that has the mission to meet the community cultural needs by offering various cultural products and services: exhibitions, creative workshops, cultural-artistic activities, musical education and dance activities, aesthetic education activities. Thus, the general objective of the project contributes to the development of tradition in contemporaryity, its valorisation in cultural life, stimulation of the creative process in all artistic genres, research and evaluation of the reality of urban culture phenomenon, promotion of traditional and contemporary culture goods in the national and international circuit of values contributing directly to the achievement of Specific Objective 13.1 Improving the quality of life of the population in small and medium-sized cities in Romania and Investment Priority 9b Providing support for physical, economic and social revitalisation of disadvantaged communities in urban and rural regions. The project is consistent with the specific objective of the Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, Priority Axis 13: Supporting the regeneration of small and medium-sized cities and Specific Objective 13.1 Improving the quality of life of the population in small and medium-sized cities in Romania.
