Objective: reduction by 3.5 % by 2022, i.e. by 3.6 % by 2026 of Co2 equivalent emissions in the municipality of Carei through integrated and complementary measures based on the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan According to European programming documents, the development of urban mobility must become much less dependent on the use of cars, by changing the focus from mobility based mainly on their use, mobility based on walking, cycling as a means of travel, using high quality and efficient public transport, reducing the use of cars in parallel with the use of clean car categories. By setting up an attractive and efficient public passenger transport system, building a depot, by extending a coherent network of bicycle tracks, implemented bike-sharing and e-tiketing systems, but also by creating and modernising comfortable pedestrian walkways, implementing safety measures and restoring green spaces, the project ensures the conditions for achieving a sustainable transfer of a part of the modal share of private transport by cars to public transport, the use of the bicycle as a means of travel and walking. In this way, road traffic with passenger cars and CO2-equivalent emissions in the municipality of Carei can be significantly reduced. Thus, the project proposes activities that, through an integrated and complementary approach, will directly contribute to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from motorised road transport in the municipality. The reduction of GHG emissions tons/year will be achieved as follows: from 19.039.8 in 2017 to 19,571.5 in 2022 and 19,663.0 in 2026.
