The main objective of the project is the rehabilitation, modernisation, conservation, protection and sustainable exploitation of the Szekler National Museum Ensemble, a remarkable monument of county and national interest on the list of Historical Monuments code LMI: CV-II-m-A-13104.01/CV-II-m-A-13104.02/CV-II-m-A-13104.03/CV-II-m-A-13104.04. The rehabilitation of the ensemble includes, on the other hand, partial restructuring of the museum route by reorganising the interior spaces in order to bring together and optimise the value of the collections, bringing administrative rooms, respectively museum research offices and restoration workshops under the same roof; fitting-out of changing rooms and appendices that do not exist now; the development of outdoor indoor exposures; creating the conditions for sheltering new activities and functions so far non-existent, but necessary, arranging some museum pedagogy spaces for attracting children, interactive activities, setting up a complex route for visiting the museum complex, making the entrance to the service road, landscape design of the entire premises to attract a large audience, etc. In order to increase the degree of exploitation and accessibility of persons with disabilities, the buildings of the museum ensemble that are the object of the investment will be equipped with specialised equipment, carved and bronzed model for the blind (ladder 1:200, located on the stone base at the entrance to the main building to help them get an idea of the location of the museum in space, as well as its dimensions), 3D maps, tactile maps, tactile planes, labels and braille plates for doors and displays, audio guide, etc. Disabled persons in the targeted audience will benefit from specialised guidance, I can read plastified guides, written in Braille alphabet, especially for blind people, but also signboards and tags in the same alphabet, which explain the history and meaning of each object. There will also be audio guides, but also ethnographical drawings, which contain explanations written with letters specific to the alphabet for the blind. With the completion of the project, privileged spaces will be obtained for a diversified museum program, for all categories of visitors, in the immediate vicinity of the central area of Sfantu Gheorghe city center, whose cultural, touristic and scientific contribution is emphasised by the marketing strategy. By contributing to the achievement of the objective of Priority Axis 5 and its IP 5.1, the project leads to the achievement of the strategic vision of the 2014-2020 ROP, which is based on the recognition that each region must maximise its economic and social potential for development so as to contribute to national economic growth.
