The general objective of the project is to increase accessibility on the administrative territory of Aiud by ensuring the connection of Garbova de Jos, Garbovita and Garbova de Sus localities with the TEN-T network and improving the quality of life of the population in the localities concerned by the project and the surrounding ones, by upgrading the section DN1-Garbova de Jos-garvita-Garbova de Sus. The proposed road to modernisation is located in Romania, county. Alba, on the administrative territory of Aiud and ensures the connection of Garbova de Jos, Garbovita and Garbova de Sus with DN1, with a total length of 7675 m. Road clothing and road route are not in line with the needs and prospects of economic and social development of the region in which they are located, which requires the road to be modernised as quickly as possible in order to improve viability, as well as the comfort and safety of traffic for users. The county road under consideration falls under category of importance C (normal) and class of importance III, in accordance with Law No 10/1995 on quality in construction and Government Decision No 766/1997 (Annex 3) on the approval of certain regulations on quality in construction.
