General objective: The general objective of the project is to develop an environmentally friendly public transport system that will reduce CO2 emissions and improve the accessibility of environmentally friendly modes of transport, through investments aimed at improving urban public passenger transport, namely the acquisition of 8 electric buses for the CHITILA – Mogosoaia – BANEASA route (R35) The achievement of the project objectives will have a direct positive impact on reducing CO2 equivalent emissions at Chitila and Mogosoaia City level generated by motorised road transport, directly contributing to the achievement of the specific objective of priority axis 3.2 of the 2014-2020 ROP, namely the reduction of carbon emissions in urban areas based on sustainable mobility plans. In this respect, the activities proposed by the project will mainly aim to improve the efficiency of public passenger transport, its frequency and journey times, its accessibility, its transfer from private transport by car, as well as the transfer to non-motorised modes of transport. It will also aim to make the use of passenger cars a less attractive option in terms of economic and journey times than the use of public transport/non-motorised modes, thereby creating the conditions for reducing car numbers and reducing CO2-equivalent emissions. The purchase of environmentally friendly buses will increase the attractiveness of local public transport, which will support modal relocation, i.e. the discontinuation of private car journeys in favour of the use of local public transport. Equipping the public transport fleet with 8 new and clean electric buses will cause some of the current users of the private car to move to public transport, which will reduce the negative impact of motor vehicles powered by conventional fuel engines, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2 equivalents) discharged into the atmosphere. The purchase of environmentally friendly means of transport for the provision of the public passenger transport service will decrease for 2021, the first year after the completion of the project implementation, the volume of CO2 emissions from transport in the project study area to 95056.00 tonnes CO2/year, i.e. 106621.00 tonnes/year in 2025. Thus, it is estimated to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (equivalent to CO2) by 798.00 tonnes CO2/year, i.e. 0.83 % in 2021 and 707.00 tonnes CO2/year, i.e. 0.66 % in 2025. The decrease in GHG emissions will be mainly due to a reduction in the number of passenger cars made up of penetration flows with the origin/destination of CHITILA – Mogosoaia – BANEASA (R35 route) resulting from modal relocation of l
