Conservation, protection, promotion and development of the cultural heritage of the Balamuci Monastery’s Historical Monuments, Ilfov County

The general objective of the project is to capitalise on the tourist and cultural potential of Balamuci Monastery, Balta Neagra Village, Nuci commune, Ilfov County, LMI code IF-II-a-A-15263, by preserving, protecting, promoting and developing the cultural heritage of the Church "St. Nicolae" LMI code IF-II-m-A-15263.01, in order to increase the overall contribution to sustainable regional development. According to the activities foreseen in the project to achieve the proposed objectives, it is envisaged to achieve the specific objective of the Investment Priority 5.1., Priority Axis 5 of the Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, namely to boost local and regional development by preserving, protecting, promoting and developing the natural and cultural heritage and cultural identity, taking into account the proposed conservation and restoration works and maintaining in the tourist circuit within the Bucharest Ilfov region an objective of particularly high national cultural importance. The project’s compliance with the priority axis and the area of intervention is supported by the following aspects: • An increase in the number of tourists (5.37 % per year) is achieved by highlighting the local cultural potential, ensuring 3139 visitors per year; • Creating an opportunity for local economic development by increasing the importance of tourism and culture; • It facilitates the development of adjacent economic activities at local and county level.
