The project concerns the reconstruction of an existing green space and the formation of a new, in the urban area Castles, the Municipal Unit of Sykes of the Municipality of Neapolis-Sykeon. The total area of the area is about 1.908 sq.m. A large part of it (approximately 1,217 sq.m.) is already landscaped, while the rest is unformed. The architectural composition that will be implemented with this project is constituted by reduction of hard surfaces, conservation of existing trees and enrichment of vegetation, choice of material coatings of high water permeability, maintenance-repair of stone benches and dispensing walls, creation of motion axes for the pedestrians, accessible to all (older, persons with mobility problems) and alternative pathways of pedestrian movement, creation of axes of motion as a surface area, accessible to all (elderly, people with mobility problems) and alternative pathways of pedestrian movement, the creation of axials and axial space as axonous. The materials to be used are: Coloured water-permeable concrete, granite blocks, concrete elements, living rooms, water elements, stone elements, open-air musical instruments, and luminaires throughout the park. With the planned regeneration, the space is upgraded environmentally, aesthetically and functionally, it becomes “open” for all citizens, and the necessary measures are taken to access it for people with disabilities. Upon completion of the project, a fully functional park will be assigned to the local community, which will serve the increased needs of the area for adequate and modern recreation areas.
