Regeneration of a “Romanian” park between Venizelos, Karamanlis, Papandreou Streets in Neapolis

The project concerns the regeneration of the Romanians’ Park in the Neapolis Municipal Unit of the Municipality of Neapolis – Sykes, with the aim of creating a thematic park of bioclimatic design with broader uses for all citizens. The regeneration, redesign and exploitation of the Park has been planned in terms of architecture, urban planning, aesthetic and environmental in a way that functionally and technically will function as a modern urban park with an important bioclimatic role. In particular, the regeneration plan provides for the redevelopment of the free space and the creation of a safe urban green area with a multifunctional character, which will utilise and highlight the urban, architectural and environmental dimension of the area and its multicultural character. In this way, the Park will contribute to tackling environmental pressures in a densely-structured and heavily pressured area, the regeneration of the neighbourhood and, by extension, social cohesion.
