The action is a project of the Strategie for Sustainable Urban Development of the Municipality of Larissa entitled The City in Proskinio, and concerns work on access, openings and construction of pedestrian cycling roads in the part of the intervention area occupied by the drainage trench I1 between the districts of Nea Smyrni and A.T.A. (from Airport Bridge to OSE Bridge). The aim of the project is to integrate the area into the city’s web while tackling the problems of adjacent neighborhoods, the functional, aesthetic and environmental upgrading of the area and the connection of the trench with the configurations of the Penios river.In particular, the interventions concern the opening of new routes and the upgrading of existing ones, as well as the cleaning of the bed. The lengths of the routes that will be opened are for the lower corridors 245 m for the north and 680 m to the south, while the length of the southern upper corridor at the top of the southern embankment, which is open and will be paved, is 705 m.As for the northern upper corridor at the top of the northern embankment, it will not be reconstructed and will remain as it is. The act also includes planting trees in the extensions of the coronations of the embankment on either side of the trench to the populated areas of the city, as well as the electric lighting of the southern upper corridor.
