The priority for the Municipality of Kavala is to improve the educational conditions of the city’s young people. For this reason, the renovation and remodeling of the building that houses the 21st Primary School was studied, as well as the construction of an addition, where new rooms and functional spaces will be housed. In order to upgrade the energy efficiency of the building, all external frames will be replaced with new energy and external thermal insulation of the building will be applied. The existing dividing walls will be demolished and new ones will be built in different positions in order to increase the classrooms. On the ground floor, after the interventions, there are now 3 classrooms, a physical science laboratory and a meeting-food area. The cafeteria expands and gains access to the dining area in order to function as a kitchenette. On the floor there are 6 classrooms, a foreign language room, a hall for the integration department and a computer lab, which will also be used as a library.
