The project concerns the restoration of the Zambelios building in Lefkada and its formation into a centre of letters and arts. The Zambeliou building is built according to the system of Lefkadian earthquake-resistant structures, as they have been certified since the 15th century.This technology preserves and preserves the structural tradition of ancient Greece. The building has been declared listed (Government Gazette 319/D/7-4-1992) and is located within the historical center of the town of Lefkada.The building is two storey. The ground floor has a surface, according to the imprint of 294.64 sq.m. and is stone with walls of 0.60 cm thick. The floor has a surface of 259,74 sq.m. and is made entirely of wood. The plot has an area of 760,50 sq.m.The renovation-renovation works of the building will be carried out, according to the study carried out with absolute respect to the existing structure of the building and according to the instructions given in the Gazette 319/D/7-4-1992. On the ground floor of the Zambelion house there is the reception and multi-purpose rooms with the open-air event area while on the 1st floor there is a closed event hall and various library offices.The garden with a surface of 444,40 sq.m. will be designed so that it can be used for cultural events, but without losing its character.Finally included in the project the supply of furniture and audiovisual media for the equipment of the Zampelion House, as well as the association. Archeological monitoring of the project during the repair phase of the building will require an architect.
