The purpose of the project is the 5-year continuation of the Hosting House for abused women and their children, which was created in the Municipality of Piraeus in 2013. The hostel, with a capacity of 20 people, aims to provide women who have suffered or suffer violence in all forms of and/or multiple discrimination (e.g. migrant women, refugees, single-parents, disabled people, unemployed, etc.) together with their children, if they are in danger and in need of safe accommodation, hospitality, security, psychological and social support from specialised scientific personnel, as well as support for their integration into the labour market when required. It also facilitates their access to legal counseling, by referring them to Consultative Centres.Women and their children can be accommodated for up to three (3) months, and depending on the case and if deemed necessary by the scientific staff and the Management of the Hostel, the duration of the accommodation can be extended accordingly. It is housed in a building owned by the Municipality, appropriately designed for this purpose, in a non-communicable address for the general public and in an area that is easily accessible by means of transport.
