The project concerns the operation of the Basic Goods Providement Structure of the Municipality of Patras which serves all residents of the Municipality who are affected or threatened by poverty and social exclusion aiming at the immediate relief of citizens from the extreme form of poverty they experience. It is a structure that operates complementary, and does not replace or replaces, the Social Services of the Municipality and the Social Organisation of the Municipality of Patras (KODHP), but widens the range of social services provided to the citizens-benefits. It also cooperates closely with the Community Centre for the multifaceted and multi-layered support of the beneficiaries.By already clicking on the pre-existing operation of direct poverty structures, citizens are aware of the services of the Social Grocery and the soup kitchens and have already developed a very good and close cooperation with the services of the KODIP that support these structures. It should be noted that the Community Centre plays an important role in the referral and support of the beneficiaries of the new structures of the Community, and therefore of this Structure. In addition, the potential beneficiaries are informed by publications, events, websites but mainly by the services of networked agencies-services (social services, hospitals, schools, associations/organisations, etc.)At the same time the Basic Goods Structure has developed an important network of partnerships on two levels:1) Support for beneficiaries 2) Support and strengthening of the structure by providing essentials, food, clothing. In this context, relevant awareness-raising events are organised.
