The implementation of the project “Procurement of Primary Health Equipment” in Primary Health Care Units of the 1st Health Region is extremely important for the restructuring of the operation of PEDY and the improvement of the health services provided. The new equipment will lead to new possibilities for providing health services in Primary Care Units and Health Centres that did not exist before, while the replacement of old machines will enable health services to be upgraded to Units that already provided them. This gives the possibility of broadening the therapeutic options offered to citizens while improving the diagnostic capabilities provided with the new equipment, ensuring optimum treatment of patients. The provision of more quality and direct health services to citizens will also lead to a reduction in their attendance in Higher Health Care structures, i.e. hospitals, resulting in the decongestion of EDFs, as well as the exposure of citizens/patients to multi-resistant pathogens. The project includes the supply and installation of four (4) general and cardiological ultrasound systems, thirteen (13) digital radiological complexes, five (5) digital mammographs and five (5) digital panoramic x-ray systems.
