The project aims to develop actions on gender equality in the Municipality of Athens, through the implementation of the European Gender Equality Charter, in order to promote gender perspective in policies, initiatives and actions of the Municipality. Also, the development of a framework for the prevention and treatment of gender discrimination and inequalities.In this context, it is planned to create and operate a Women’s Advisory Centre to prevent and combat gender violence and/or multiple discrimination, where multidisciplinary services will be provided by specialised personnel to women facing all forms of violence and/or multiple discrimination (e.g. unemployed, immigrant women, refugees, people with disabilities, etc.), in order to support the integrated populations. The services provided shall include: Information/information on gender equality, violence against women and multiple discrimination; specialised social, psychological, labour and legal support with gender perspective; referral or escort to hostels, police and prosecutor’s authorities, the court, hospitals or health centres, bodies responsible for welfare or other benefits, etc.
