The project concerns the upgrading of the digital infrastructure of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in order to improve the provision of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) services and includes: 1. Upgrading scientific software for education and research. The most critical scientific software for the Foundation’s educational and research process that meets hundreds of thousands of requests for use on an annual basis will be upgraded by offering additional functionality and increased capabilities to users. 2. Supply of electronic request management software and software development support. The system by which the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki manages on an annual basis tens of thousands of user requests regarding the offered electronic services will be upgraded and at the same time created Portal Users through which they can monitor the implementation process of their requests and be self-served through appropriately configured documentation material. 3. Upgrading of AUTH central hall audiovisual equipment: It concerns 2 halls of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the conference room of the Law School, which hosts hundreds of certified teleconferences of collective organs, and the Hall of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, which hosts hundreds of events each year. 4. Extension of unified communications services to the outermost units of Aristotle University. The Aristotle University currently has a significant number of facilities outside the central campus. 10 of these installations will be upgraded to enjoy the advantages of IP telephony and the convergence of voice and data networks. 5. Additional commissions for upgrading central computing services. The central computer infrastructure of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki will be upgraded, offering increased capabilities to the members of the research community in the processing of research data, while at the same time the system for storing critical electronic data of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki will be upgraded in order to remain reliable and be able to respond to the increase in data storage needs in the coming years.
