The Centre for the Consultative Support for Women Victims of Victims of the Municipality of Kastoria (CCC) was created and operates as part of an integrated action plan developed by the General Secretariat for Gender Equality with the aim of preventing and combating violence against women and for the benefit of women and their children at regional and local level. The “KSG-DR” is a first-line service for the Municipality of Kastoria, covering the need for direct assistance services for women – victims of gender violence, as well as implementing actions to prevent and raise awareness crucial to highlighting the issue of gender violence of all forms. The aim of the Advisory Centre is to provide direct assistance services to women victims of gender violence, to implement prevention and awareness-raising actions crucial to highlighting the issue of gender violence of all forms, as well as to support women in their integration into the labour market where necessary. More specifically, the project aims to: To provide comprehensive support for women victims of violence (mainly domestic violence and trafficking) and their children, to inform and raise awareness of local communities in order to prevent and combat all forms of violence against women, to strengthen the role of local government in actions to prevent and combat all forms of violence against women, to advise women victims of violence with a view to informing and empowering victims. Support and assistance actions shall include: Psychosocial support (advisory from a psychologist, information-information by a social worker on issues of employment, welfare benefits etc.) Legal counseling and information on victims’ rights, the relevant legislation, the procedures required for the submission of complaints, lawsuits etc.Reference or escort of the women benefiting where required, in hostels, police and prosecutors, in courts, hospitals, social policy bodies, etc. At the same time, the Centre cooperates with all local authorities involved in tackling incidents of violence. In addition, the Centre’s executives organise and participate in: Actions to promote employment Networking Actions Information and awareness-raising actions to prevent and combat violence against women In addition, the Centre’s main objective is to implement awareness-raising and informing the local community in order to prevent and address the phenomenon of violence against women. The beneficiaries of the intervention will be women who have suffered and suffer violence in all forms and/or multiple discrimination (e.g. migrant women, refugees, single-parents, disabled, unemployed, etc.). It should be noted that there is in principle no restriction on the geographical origin of the women benefiting.
