OPERATION OF STRUCTURES AND SERVICES OF LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT TO THE BENEFIT OF WOMEN AND TO COMBAT VIOLENCE

The aim of this project is to provide safe short-term hospitality to women who have suffered and suffer violence in all forms of or even multiple discrimination (migrant women, refugees, single-parents, disabled, unemployed, etc.) with their children from all over Greece. The Hostel is based in the Municipality of Kozani and operates 24 hours a day, weekends and holidays throughout the year. It has adequate measures for the safety of guests and cooperates with the Police Directorate of Kozani.The address and telephone number of the Guest House is classified for the safety of the guests. The procedure for referral to the Hostel is carried out through the procedure described in the Regulation of Operation. Guests and their children are provided with safe free accommodation that includes accommodation, feeding, social and psychological support, individual counseling and promotional services in employment by qualified personnel. The Hostel cooperates with the competent authorities (Police, Public Prosecutor’s Office, Social Services, Health Services etc.) and refers according to the needs of women. The Hostel is staffed by Social Officer, Psychologist, Child Psychologist, Administrative Officer and Assistant Staff.
