The proposal “Open Trade Center of Nea Smyrni” consists of a series of complementary actions to upgrade public space, smart city systems and smart sustainable mobility, which in combination with actions to highlight the identity of the commercial area and promotion and promotion of the commercial area, constitute a comprehensive intervention in the demarcated area that extends to a length of 1.656 m and an area of 43.837 m² that is part of the commercial center of Nea Smyrni, while constituting the first attempt of integrated interventions in the area. The Financing Proposal is submitted with a beneficiary, the Municipality of Nea Smyrna, and co-beneficiary, the Athens Professional Chamber, which will implement a set of coherent and interrelated interventions with the aim of a) upgrading the functionality and aesthetics of the intervention area and b) the organisation of the economic activity developed within this area, through the adoption and use of smart applications. The proposed act seeks to strengthen the economic activity developed in a central commercial area of the Municipality of Nea Smyrni on Omirou Street, from its contribution to El. Venizelos until its confluence with Vyzantiou Street, the eastern part of Palaiologos street from its confluence with Homer Street to its confluence with Ionia Street, the section of Vryoulon Street between Megalos Alexandrou Street and Homer Street, the pedestrian streets of Gordios and Troias, the central square as well as the pedestrian streets surrounding the main square, i.e. the 25th of March street. The proposed act is functionally linked to important attractions such as the square and the Nea Smyrni grove.
