The project concerns the implementation of training programmes for 36 unemployed Roma, registered in the Labour Force Employment Organisation (OAED), from the settlements of Agios Raphael, Sarantaporou and Florina of the Municipality of Serres. It is part of the approved Local Action Plan for the social inclusion of Roma in the Municipality of Serres and is part of the priorities ‘Education’ and ‘Promotion in Employment’, as defined in the National Strategy. The project provides for 2 training programmes aimed at achieving equal opportunities for Roma access to the labour market, their best integration into the social fabric and their response to the demands of the new economic reality. More specifically, a 1 ‘Learning of the Greek Language’ programme will be implemented for 10 people, with a duration of 250 hours, which will include the basic fields of knowledge development, adapted to a level appropriate to the language level and the needs of the participants, and 1 program “Development of Digital Skills” for 26 people, lasting 100 hours, which will lead to a certificate in the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), elementary level.
