Social Integration Programme, based in Thessaloniki

The aim of the project is to carry out a social integration program for dependent and dependants in Thessaloniki. The process of drug rehab requires complex psychosocial treatment, as substance use, social exclusion and delinquency interact with corresponding behaviors and attitudes. The number of people who cannot be integrated socially and professionally is constantly expanding in recent years, given both the younger population involved in the field of ‘legal’ and illegal dependencies, but also due to the economic crisis affecting the country. The principle of therapeutic intervention is to strengthen the functional aspects of the individual, to strengthen him in all possible ways and to interfere with his dysfunctional characteristics. Emphasis is placed on cultivating and developing educational and professional skills, finding work and ensuring a stay there. A significant factor of personal development and activation for change is the reconnection with the educational process. The aim is to improve and develop the educational situation and professional qualifications, the smooth integration into the workplace and the development of personal interests. The actions to be implemented under this project are the following: 1) Legal support for the Therapeutic Programs of the Centre for the Treatment of Dependants (KETHEA) in the Region of Central Macedonia (ICM). The termination of legal unfinished business is a basic prerequisite for rehab and reintegration into society. In this sense it is necessary to provide assistance to persons in rehab or who have been rehabilitated with the aim of resolving their legal issues and associated with the use of delinquent behaviour. 2) Support of the KETHEA Therapeutic Programmes in the UK on issues related to economic activity. 3) Action for the development of pre-professional and professional skills of the KETHEA Therapeutic Programmes in the UK.
