The aim of the project is the creation of a central support service for elderly or lonely people in need of social welfare and support. The service is provided by the Directorate-General for Public Health and Social Welfare, which is the relevant department of the Region of Central Macedonia (ICM) and includes the following actions: 1. Operation of a 24-hour monitoring and telephone support centre for 3 years to approximately 3,000 beneficiaries. The Centre has adequately trained staff, which has direct access to the archive of each elderly and consists of social workers, psychologists and responds directly to any need of the elderly. If the elderly is unable to respond, the service immediately sends assistance (some neighbor, family member, ambulance, Direct Action or Fire Brigade, as appropriate estimated to be required). 2. Continuous 24-hour home viewing and paging service via special devices for 3 years. It concerns a specialised subscription service for monitoring and paging through social care devices, which communicate with the Centre for 24-hour call management. The appliances are awarded to beneficiaries by the UKM, on the basis of social, medical and economic criteria. Monitoring shall relate to events of fall, illness, panic and removal of the elderly and include: Home surveillance with a panic button. The beneficiary is able to call to help by pressing a button (panic button) when immediate assistance is needed. — home surveillance with a fall detection and a panic button. The device provided has an additional mechanism for detecting the drop and control of motion or immobility of its vehicle. Tracking and tracking out of the house. Using the device it is possible to view the beneficiary on a geographical map over the Internet and send an alert in case of removal from specified limits. This device is useful in patients with dementia, who are often removed due to memory loss from their home and cannot be found.
