The aim of the project is the creation and operation of the Community Centre of the Municipality of Polygyros, aiming to support the Municipality in the implementation of social protection policies and the development of a local reference point for the reception, service and interconnection of citizens with all Social Programs and Services implemented in the intervention area of the Municipality of Polygyros. The Community Centre will provide the following services: Reception, information, service and interconnection of citizens with all social programmes (Awards – Social Income for Solidarity – the European Assistance Fund for the Most Deprived, social structures and services such as home assistance, the programmes of the General Secretariat for Lifelong Learning and Youth, etc.) and services implemented in the area. Networking of all institutions providing Social Protection. Cooperation and referral of requests to employment services (e.g. Labour Force Employment Organisation – OAED) for the inclusion of beneficiaries in training programmes, employment actions, training seminars and jobs. Cooperation with the local labour market in order to integrate the unemployed. Provision of counselling support for labour market integration, vocational guidance services, etc. – Advising psychosocial support to children, adults, families and the elderly. Programmes to help create opportunities for young people, e.g. vocational guidance for adolescents, skills improvement, cultural activities, youth participation and support programmes, in cooperation with the Child’s Ombudsman and other services and structures. Organisation of events with educational, communication and social content such as organising educational seminars in preventive medicine and healthy living conditions. Development of a Volunteer Network that will either assist the staff of the Community Centre on a case-by-case basis or contribute to the actions of the other poverty response structures.
