The project concerns the supply and installation at the University General Hospital of Heraklion of a digital vaseograph and a complete automated micro-organism identification system using the MALDI – TOF mass spectrometry technology. The digital angiography is required for vascular diseases with organisation of surgical conditions, in order to carry out intravascular surgery in the brain, intragrafts in abdominal and thoracic aorta aneurysms, permanent embolisms in emergency bleeding traumatic or non-traumatic and finally invasive oncological acts in the liver and other organs. The complete automated micro-organism identification system using the MALDI- TOF mass spectrometry technology identifies within a short time and without the use of consumable materials, gram positive and gram negative bacteria and mycobacterides as well as other micro-organisms. It also allows faster information to clinicians, better use of antibiotics and limiting resistant microbes.
