The object of the project is the development of a digital platform for the holistic approach of Samos’ gastronomic tourism, using state-of-the-art technologies. It is a tourist guide that treats food as a central activity associated with other activities and the place. In other words, it brings the visitor to acquaintance with Samos through the manifestations of life in it, that is through its living and active cultural capital which has deep roots. In this context, the visitor or tourist first starts with what he wants to eat and drink and what activity to participate in and based on them regulates his visit. At the same time, the tourist acquires global knowledge of food, its quality and the social and productive processes associated with it. Thus, it has the opportunity of a simple consumer of the tourist product to become a part of the special nature of Samos. The implementation of the project shall include: 1. The development of multilingual (Greek, English, Turkish, Russian) application platform for traveller and professional. The platform will allow personalised search (feed characteristics, culture). Access to the platform will be via personal computers, tablets and smart phones. 2. The development of an infrastructure with scientifically structured content to record the complex Samian cultural reserve associated with food.
