The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the annual primary energy consumption of public buildings are strategic objectives for both the University of Crete and the National Network of Infrastructure of Technology and Research (EDYTE SA – GRNET), as the National Research and Technology Network (EEDET).This project concerns the energy upgrading of the infrastructures operating in the premises of the University of Crete, and includes the implementation of: Reduction of thermal losses of buildings and reduction of consumption.2. Monitoring and evaluating policies and measures to reduce thermal losses and reduce consumption. 3. Supply through RES part of the University’s energy needs and the National Health Data Centre operated by EDYTE S.A. in the building of the University in Voutes. 4. Use of electric vehicles to serve the transport needs of administrative and educational staff, which will be offered free of charge within the internal road network of the University Campus, as well as between buildings outside and from the campus.
