The total project of the Ardanio Mandra section perpendicular to Egnatia road axis ‘Ardanio-Ormenio’ concerns the conversion of the existing road, length 37,5 km, into a closed expressway with a section width of 12/14 m. It includes the detours of the settlements of Provaton and Kornofolias, the construction of 10 intersections (Puplou, Thymaria, Provaton, Fylaktos, Lyra-Lagynon, Dadias, Kornofolias, South Soufli, North Soufli, Mandra) and the construction of a side road network and the restoration of the local road network (vertical roads). It also includes works to repair road damage in parts of the Ardanium-Mandra artery, where a new asphalt layer of circulation is required throughout the entire length of the road. The project is funded under two programming periods, i.e. it is a phasing project between NSRF 2007-2013 and NSRF 2014-2020. The implementation of phase B, in which the present project is timed, includes the remaining construction completion tasks (sand, asphalt, electric lighting, marking/safety), as well as the remaining part of the supporting actions of the project.
