The project concerns the construction of a new gas distribution network in the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace, which will cover 6 cities (Alexandroupolis, Komotini, Drama, Xanthi, Orestiada, Kavala). Regions of the Region are already covered by a natural gas distribution network, with an existing structure of about 150 km of medium and low pressure network, through which commercial and industrial consumers are served. This project aims to increase the penetration of gas into commercial and industrial consumers and to acquire a significant market share of domestic consumers. To this end, the project foresees the construction of a new low pressure network of approximately 485 km long, an average pressure network of approximately 9 km long and 9 stations measuring and adjusting pressure. The construction of the project is planned in the first half of 2019, when it will be possible to distribute natural gas to the urban fabric of these cities.
