The project concerns the energy upgrade of the school complex that hosts the 2nd Professional Lyceum/Evening Professional Lyceum (EPA) of Chania and the Laboratory Center (EK) of Chania. The school complex, which serves more than 1,000 students, is surrounded by the streets Mylonogianni, Ypsilanton, Gregory E and K. Sfakianaki in the center of the Municipality of Chania and was constructed in various phases since 1951, in 1965 and in the 2000 rules of Chania. Given its very old construction, the total absence of thermal insulation and the limited interventions it has received, the school complex presents serious energy efficiency problems. To deal with these problems, within the framework of this project, the following project provides: – Installation of a certified external thermal insulation system.- Removal of the existing water insulation from the roof of the first floor and replace the wooden roof of the B floor, with addition of thermal insulation – thermal insulation in them, and the fact that, given the fact that the roof is present, the roof is more reliable. — Removing the simple metal frames of single glazing and replacing them with double-glazed aluminum frames, by thermal interruption.- the heating-cooling system of interior spaces through a central air-cooled heat pump, which will supply new fan coil units (winders) of wall.- Replace most of the luminaires with suitable high performance lighting. Installation of an innovative automatic lighting control system. After the completion of the project, the building complex will be upgraded from category E to category B of the Energy Efficiency Regulation (KENAK).
